Moving on Up

If you had asked me prior to the last growing season what I anticipated being the most exciting and challenging thing I thought I would face during the upcoming season, I would have answered something along the lines of successfully growing Lisianthus from seed to bloom, or keeping the voles out of my perennial beds, or even where I was going to plant the new dahlias that I just couldn’t stop ordering. In reality, all of those things turned out to be very trivial compared to the actual events of the season because we moved.

WE MOVED!

It was unplanned, unexpected, and the most stressful decision my husband and I have ever made. Which I’m sure sounds ridiculous, but you have to understand how much we loved our home. We loved our house, our view, our property, our neighbors, everything. We loved it all. And still do. Believe me, it’s bittersweet whenever I go back to pick up mail that wasn’t forwarded or to visit neighbors. A bit of my heart will always live on Daystar Drive.

But we found a unicorn property.

One that was a little closer to town, just shy of 10 acres.

One with a pond and a pool.

One with a barn and a forest and so much potential for me to grow more.

Did I mention the covered bridge?

It’s simply magical.

It’s perfect…..for us.

And we are so grateful that we have the opportunity to build our legacy here.
